The stairs were built up a step at a time keeping each step square. The outer stringer is made of ply, glued to the steps and then trimmed to shape using scissors. |
| The inner stringer was tough. I was advised to use card gradually shaped round a rod and then sprung into the centre so it could be glued in place. |

Work has now started on the hand rails and all the
fittings. These are fabricated from brass rod and tube.
